30 May Take a Girl Child to work day
On 26th May 2016, Tomorrow Trust sent 37 – Grade 12 girls in the Holiday School Programme to participate on the
Cell-C Take a Girl Child to Work Day at different companies. In addition 3 girls got exposed to what an NPO like Tomorrow Trust does on a daily basis, and got to see the different skills set required to run an organisation like Tomorrow Trust.
Cell-C organises this event annually, and its main aim is to provide an opportunity to the Grade 10-12 girls to visit and be expose to workplace and experience first-hand, the ‘world of work’ and the various career opportunities available in the different industries, and within the public service sector. The theme used is ‘Dream, Believe, Achieve’, meant to inspire the girl learners to dream and make their dreams become real despite all odds.
The girls were hosted by four of our donors, being, Amec Foster Wheeler,Makro, IQ Business Solutions and PepsCo.
The feed-back provided by the girls indicates that they all had a remarkably pleasant and an informative day at the companies that hosted them.
Tomorrow Trust would like to express its gratitude to all the hosting companies and the team members that share their time and parted information with the girls.
